“The Day the Server Died” turns IT resilience into a superhero story for technical and non-technical audiences, launching in three weekly instalments starting 12 May.
Aberdeen headquartered, Evolve, has launched the first instalment of its new comic series, The Day the Server Died, using storytelling and illustration to bring the realities of modern IT infrastructure, risk, and resilience to life.
Designed for both technical and non-technical audiences, the comic uses a superhero-style narrative to show how organisations can respond to critical system failures and maintain operations under pressure.
Robin Parkinson, Managing Director of Evolve, said: “Keeping organisations running in high-stakes environments is what we do, but the language of IT can feel inaccessible.
“This comic is about making those challenges and solutions relatable, memorable, and even enjoyable.”
From Server Failure to Superhero Response
The debut issue centres on a catastrophic server failure - an event many organisations fear but few fully understand.
Through a cast of characters representing different elements of modern IT systems, the story explores how proactive monitoring, intelligent systems, and rapid response strategies can prevent disruption from escalating into business-critical failure.
While fictional in format, the themes reflect real-world challenges faced by organisations across sectors such as energy and offshore operations, where uptime, security, and performance are essential.
Bridging the Gap Between Technology and People
Evolve specialises in digital transformation and managed IT services, partnering with organisations to operate more efficiently, securely, and intelligently.
The company’s work includes business intelligence, data warehousing, systems integration, automation, and managed services - supporting teams and complex environments where resilience is critical.
Robin added: “Our clients rely on us not just to fix problems, but to anticipate them.
“This series is a different way of showing how data, systems, and people come together to keep operations moving.”
A New Approach to Tech Storytelling
The Day the Server Died is the first in a planned series of comic releases, each exploring a different aspect of digital transformation - from cybersecurity to automation and data visibility.
By reimagining IT challenges through a creative lens, Evolve aims to make complex technology more accessible, spark new conversations, and demonstrate the real-world impact of digital systems beyond traditional industry messaging.
