Beauty and the Beast
We’re delighted to say ‘we’re in!’ With continued growth Evolve needed to move operations to something more suitable for our head office. We purchased 5 Rubislaw Place, Aberdeen in 2021 and set about a full redevelopment of the building to suit our needs. The labour required was substantial due to decades of alterations to suit changing occupancy and as such we needed to engage a multi-discipline contractor capable of the building works. We chose JOR Property which was a great decision. They did an outstanding job we’re sure you’ll agree. Alongside the joinery, roofing, plastering, electrical and decorating works from them, we needed data cabling and communication systems installed too. This included a facial recognition door entry system, smart boards, OLED screens, ceiling mounted wifi, SONOS, mood and movement sensor lighting. It was a complex set of works. We couldn’t have completed it without the outstanding consultancy from James Munro and the technical work of his team at JAM Cabling. Similarly, the highly technical support and implementation work from Colin Cumming and the team at Delta Unified Solutions who knew exactly what was required from the specification outline. Fast forward to a new loop system fire alarm, App based intruder alarm, CCTV, data cabinet and all data and electrical cables hidden (an incredibly difficult collection of tasks in a traditional granite property) and we have our completed office!
That wasn’t the end of the story of course as we had to furnish the office too. This was completed by Kerr Gibson and the team at Geschwender Interiors. They tirelessly came up with concepts and colour options to complement the office, our branding and to ensure the fresh feel of the redeveloped traditional building matched them. We love the way it’s worked out. Thank you to all our suppliers for bringing this incredibly difficult project together.
This project was a beast but it has been an immensely rewarding, challenging journey. Bringing an old building back to life, whilst retaining it’s period features in the West end of Aberdeen feels good. We can now look forward to working together in our hybrid way from the beauty of our new head office!
